After work today, I went up to move my blind with the help of my seven year old step-daughter.  Just for kicks, I brought along a box call thinking I could teach her how to use it.  After setting up the blind, I show her how it works.  First attempt didn't sound very good, but that was to be expected.  After some further instruction, she got the hang of it.  After a series of yelps, what should we hear?  GOBBLE Gobble gobble!!!   :yike:  We need to leave...now, since I didn't have my bow with me.  :bash:  We got down the hill and there is a train passing, so we wait.  After it passes, she wants to give it one more try.  Who am I to say no?  She yelps.  Nothing.  Again.  Not one, but TWO gobblers!  We REALLY need to leave since it sounds like they are getting closer.  I may have educated a couple turkey's, but I think it was worth it.

Or maybe you educated yourself to never leave your bow behind???  :chuckle: Cool deal though, that's the best way to learn, and the best way for kids to gain confidence in their calling ability.

That is so Awesome sounds like your daughter is going to be quite the turkey hunter, my 11 year old daughter really enjoys turkey hunting.
