I don't ever recall a price that low on a Geissele trigger.

Thanks for spending my money.

Thanks for spending my money.

Me either, I paid substantially more for the six I purchase a couple years ago.

They've had a lot of sales lately.  I purchased the Geissele G2S from Primary Arms for $90 back in Nov.  And the SSA-E for $168 a bit before that.  What's the difference between the "-E" models and those without that designation?

The first thing to note is that the SSA and SSA-E are designed for different purposes. The SSA is designed for precision shooting, while the SSA-E is designed for close quarters combat (CQC). As such, they have different features that make them better suited for their respective roles.

The biggest difference between the two triggers is the weight of pull. The SSA has a lighter weight of pull than the SSA-E, making it easier to control when shooting at long range. The SSA-E, on the other hand, has a heavier weight of pull that makes it easier to keep on target in fast-paced CQC situations.

Another difference between these triggers is the length of pull. The SSA has a shorter length of pull than the SSA-E, making it easier to reach the trigger when shooting from a prone position. The SSA-E, on the other hand, has a longer length of pull that makes it easier to keep on target when standing or moving around.

Finally, there is the matter of price. The SSA is typically more expensive than the SSA-E, although there are some models of each trigger that can be found for similar prices. Ultimately, the decision between these two triggers comes down to what you need them for and how much you are willing to spend. If you need a precision trigger for long range shooting, then the SSA is probably the better option. If you need a trigger for CQC, then the SSA-E is probably the better choice
.

I just noticed this article has the two backwards

If you need a trigger for CQC, then the SSA is probably the better choice.

This is from Geiselle themselves.

The SSA-E is ideal for use in precision Squad Designated Marksman type rifles where weapon accuracy and reliability are critical and a non-adjustable drop in trigger is desired.

The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) Trigger is a finely-tuned semi-automatic-only version of our full-auto, two stage combat trigger presently used in the U.S. Special Operations Community.

The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) trigger is a semi-automatic only version of Geissele's Super Select-Fire trigger. The SSA is a non-adjustable, precision, two-stage trigger and allows precise and accurate trigger control throughout a variety of conditions and usage requirements. The SSA’s two-stage design allows the trigger to be light enough for accurate and precise shots, but forgiving enough for frenetic close in work. The SSA is safety certified by Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. It is recommended for demanding applications such as Law Enforcement use, dynamic environments, and mid-range carbine work.

For a flat bow version of this trigger please see the Super Dynamic Enhanced (SD-E) trigger.

I should have caught that, I have six of the SSA's, none of the SSA-Es

To make it easy -
SSA for CQB/Homes Defense etc.
SSA-E for longer range precision.

Wow, thanks Alchase, I'm not sure I'm specialized enough to realize much of the benefit of the difference, but as more of a longer range shooter, I might not preference the -E models now.  Appreciate the insight.

I updated my post, I realized the article had the two triggers backwards. Sorry about that.
