Tagged trout- prizes.
« on: June 22, 2023, 10:42:55 AM »
We are fishing around the sun lakes area, and my son in law caught a tagged trout. WDFW said the number was already called in as caught, when we get better service they want us to send them the picture of the fish with the tag. It will be interesting to see what he wins.  Have any of you guys/gals claimed a tagged trout yet? I had my biggest trout on but lost it right at shore, then a few hours later my son in law caught a big one just like it, 19” fish. Most our trout have been 11-12” , pretty good.  Also caught some crawdad and gave the kid his first taste, he liked em.

I haven’t met a few peeps that have. Not this yr. $25 card was their prize. This year if you go to the website, you can see prizes claimed their substantially larger, pretty cool program.  :twocents:
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

Kinda a cool program, excited for him.  Didn’t know there were turkeys in sun lakes, camping friends have seen them twice, even got pics to show me.

A friend of mine caught one in Blue lake and it was a free night is some motel in Grant Co.  I caught one in Badger and it was a $25 cableas gift card.  That was a few years ago

The derby doesn’t work out very well in this area.  There is about 20 lakes within 15 minutes driving distance and they have tagged trout in three of them.  Those three lakes are massively crowded with people fishing off the boat launches and throwing the non tagged ones back.  Usually a bunch of dead fish right there.  I wish they would just plant them randomly in all the lakes they stock to spread out the pressure.
