Buffalo (hunt?)
« on: August 21, 2023, 12:54:08 PM »
I hesitate to call it a hunt as you glass a herd on a ranch, pick out the one you want and the guide drives you as close as possible and you basically slaughter it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll have a freezer full of the best meat around so I’m pleased as punch. I just don’t think I can call it a buffalo hunt.  :dunno:

I think this can be great.  Too many folks put challenge to a hunt when it wasn't that long ago that no one cared about the challenge, they were just hungry.  Don't feel down, you know where you food comes from and it will taste better that that super yummy, rutted up, mule deer steak  :chuckle:
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I think these hunts are fantastic.   You filled your freezer and did so with great meat.   If my freezer wasn’t full of meat, I would 100% be doing this myself.

Congrats.

Do they allow hunting with a lance, by horseback?

That would be cool.

Looks like a great, fun way to fill your freezer with fantastic meat. Do they do all the processing for you?

I’m betting it was cheaper than buying a whole beef cut and wrapped. I know it will eat better

Don't misunderstand me, I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone that listens. I just have a bit of a problem calling it a hunt instead of a slaughter  :chuckle:

My dad took me to do this when I was in 8th grade, 7 of us family members went and we all shot one. My dad got a shoulder mount done for me after I asked for it to be done. Still will always call it a hunt. Great memories with my dad
