So recently I've been out checking cams alot.
Discovered someone has put a cam up about 30 yards from one of my cams. No harm ,no foul ,public land.
I kinda pride myself in trying to get decent public land bucks on cam. The only thing that made me worry is it was the only cam I didn't have locked with a cable.  So the first time, which was a few days ago and when I discovered it. Went past and checked my cam.
All that was at the other cam was salt. So I put my hat over my face and pretended I was a big buck licking on the salt. My kid stood behind the cam tree , laughing away at me.
Today figured I'd whip in there, cause I have an extra cable lock from other cams that I have pulled for the season.
So now there is a salt block, and a deer block. So I figured they had to get the pics of my first encounter. :chuckle: :chuckle:
So checked my cam.Just a few doe pics. It's only been a few days anyway. This spot has never been a hotspot ,like a month soak I'll end up with a 100 pics. Not a lot at all. There is a decent buck in there. But both cams sit on the property line of public to private.
I've hunted this spot for many years, Archery they may have a chance. Modern I would be very surprised to see anything but you never know.
Anyway.....
I didn't touch or mess with anything on there setup.
Which is the way it should be.
I locked my cam with a cable,so my card or cam doesn't get stolen.
So I'm kinda waiting to see if my pic gets posted on the forum in the next few years or whatever. Should be funny,me pretending to be a buck.
I would think they would know by now, with this being the second event of me pretending to be a buck on there cam.
That I'm not the guy that wants to screw with there stuff.

Maybe we will cross paths at some point. I would love to trade pics.
Or just talk about the area a bit.
And I'm kinda waiting to see if my stuff gets messed with.
So I'll probably let it soak for a while,if they are archery I don't wanna be there screwing up there hunt. But will return right before modern to see what's going on.

Hunters and illegal off roaders mess with my cams. Only one has truly been stolen no doubt by a hunter.

PLEASE quit blaming hunters..........,,,

Unless you SAW IT HAPPEN you have ZERO PROOF it was a hunter, just speculation.

Your camera is gone regardless of the reason, calling out fellow hunters with no proof just gives us all a bad name.

This is not only for the OP, but ALL FOLKS who blame hunters for the theft

Gosh maybe it was tree huggers during hunting season that bushwacked through a very steep nasty canyon to get to absolutely no where productive. I hadn't considered it could have been mushroom pickers in terrible weather hiking a flooded creek for two miles to avoid the nasty canyon either. You right I'm sure it wasn't hunters.

Well discovered another cam today.
Forest service road about 10 mile long ,got to the dead end.
Get to the end, four piles of corn and sweet cob.
I'm turning around and noticed the Camara.
I pulled forward out of view ,walked back lifted my shirt and let them see some old man nipple.
Other than that didn't mess with it.

But also want to say .....
If your the type to put your cam on a main road.
You can't put your cam a 100 yards off the road.
You got piles of corn on the main road.
Everybody that turns around at the end of the road gets there picture taken.
Your kinda asking for someone to steal it.
Told the wife, hope he takes that down before modern.
Cause that will definitely get stolen.
Like said, public land....put it wherever you like.
I showed my wife about five others spots on the way out, that had water, cover, food, that you could easily walk a 100 yards and setup a cam . With no elevation gain. Probably be way better.

Someone like that gets there cam stolen I can't really feel that sorry.

Heck maybe next year I'll slap a cam in one of the better/other spots next year. :dunno:
