And then I was able to get my Fiancé her first deer. Her son was able to join in on the experience. My favorite hunt I have ever done. She made a perfect 250 yard shot, slightly quartering to us.

Lots of blacktails on here thus year. I love it.
I took a shot on this one on the 28th. Trying to get the 10 year old a shot but happened to quick in the thick. He was tired so I was carrying the gun and had a tiny shot window. Rutted up, smelled to high heaven. Was cruising for does, he had just swam a river into the area I was at that morning. From the 27th to the 30th saw a ton of bucks out cruising in daylight in low elevation sw wa. This guy has some mass for his size and looks like a slightly bigger twin from my buck last year that I killed 5 miles upstream along the same river drainage.
Was an amazing hunt to have my boy by me for the first time, just bummed we weren't able to get a shot for my son to shoot. I told him it was OUR deer, not mine. He was extatic about it the whole time. Hoping late buck pans out for his hunt. To top it off got it with a 20 gauge that belonged to a friend that passed unexpectedly almost 2 years ago. Very meaningful hunt all the way around.

Congrats!  I sure hope the late season comes together for your son.  I remember how hard it can be to get them a shot as everything just has to fall in place but it will happen.  Thanks for sharing.

This is now why I buy multi season tags. I normally hunt archery but having 3 bucks bigger than I've ever shot get away when my oldest was little cured me of that. Now they get pushed in the dirt and I use there back as a rest.  :chuckle:

Great buck

Last day of early season in 105. Hard to pass up with deer numbers down. Very happy with him

Very Nice.
I missed one about that size on the 25th in 105. Then on the 27th this one made a fatal error.

Looks like the same genetics with the long eye guards

How do you like that at-one stock? Been thinking about getting one. I have a featherweight thumb hole that I love.
