Newbie to WA - unit 328
« on: September 20, 2023, 03:53:06 PM »
I know I know... another newby asking for basic direction! I just moved to the tricities a few months ago and have always spent my hunting time in Wyoming (and will continue to! I have some pretty good elk and deer spots in Wyoming thanks to a resident brother there.)

that said, I do want to hunt Washington even if the numbers aren't great. I have looked into paying through northwest hunting for access to private, but was also looking at unit 328 and Naneum Ridge State forest. any advise on this area?

I will probably pop over to Wyoming and tag along with my brother on a cow elk hunt to throw some meat in the freezer, but would love to get out in Washington as well! I am an experienced back country hunter, just haven't had time to put boots to the ground here since we just got here in August. I am looking forward to getting down to the blues for spring turkey as well

thanks for any help

Look up reecer creek road an run it up to fs 3517. That's a good starting point. An you can go up to table top mountain. It's all good hunting.hike away from the roads an focus on the old burn areas. Good luck!!!!

Also look up schnebly  canyon an make sure its in 328. I can't remember if it is. That's a great public land starter.

It's all public land so no worries.  Have fun an make sure you have a cougar tag. There's quite  few running around this year.

I live in Benton city, Welcome to the area!

General rifle season is going to be a zoo where ever you go. Plan on people and use it to your advantage. I've killed bucks from anticipating where people will be and having them push deer towards me.
