My first 3D shoot
« on: June 07, 2009, 07:19:21 PM »
Met up with BULLBLASTER this morning at the Evergreen Archery Club for my first 3D shoot.  What a blast!  I scored 298.  Not bad I think for a newb.  A lot of shots that I'm not used to taking.  Steep declines/inclines and a buffalo that was 73 yds away.  Lost a couple arrows (dang branch at #23  :chuckle: ) and broke one.

A big thank you to BULLBLASTER and his buddy.  They coached me quite a bit.  Can't wait to do it again.  Hopefully I'll have some lighter arrows and bump up my draw weight to gain some more speed.  Not so much death from above on the the longer shots.  Thanks again guys.

3d shoots are awesome.  My wife and I did one on saturday.  It was a good shoot as well. They had a novelty shot at the end.  You pay a buck and shoot at the dot at 97yds.  Closest at the end of the day splits the pot.  My wife was closer than me by a couple inches. Not good considering she is only shooting 45lbs at 24". I did feel good about my shot being only 10" our of center until she shot.  :yike:  Did they have any trick shots or any smoker targets?  How many targets did they have?

No trick shots or smoker targets.  Although I did skip a shot off a log into the 10 ring on a javelina.  :dunno:  There were 40 targets.  Some of the targets were hard for me since I'm short.  Had to take a knee on one target since I knew I would clip a branch if I shot standing up.

i think they are done until around february, but the field course is always open for shooting and also the flat range.

Wow, I'm really lost now.

I think there is one next month but there was talk that it may be cancelled.

That's the plan.  I really don't know many guys that shoot as often as I want to.
