My First Halibut Trip
«

So Friday morning one of my co workers calls me on the phone and askes me if I want to go Halibut fishing with him on Saturday.
OH YEAH. We left my house in Shelton at about 8-8:30 pm that night. We then drove to my wifes family cabin just out side Port Angeles. We made it to the cabin at 11:45 pm. Now do you think we could even get to sleep, NO. After tossing around and thinking about fishing in the morning we finally fell asleep. But that didn't last very long. We had to get up at 2:30 am to drive the rest of the way to La Push
to meet up with the boat. 4:00 am we arrive. Looking all over town for the guy's with the boat. Of course no cell service. Finally meet up with them about 4:30. After waiting in line at the launch, and dealling with the boat that doesn't want to start. We finally get on our way around 6. Now comes the long boat ride out. 32 miles off shore. Once we got there the fishing was on fire. We all had our fish in the boat in no time. Im sure the only reason I got the biggest fish in the boat
was because I was wearing my lucky BTC hat. Of course we didn't have a way to weight the fish when we where there. The other guy in the pictures told me he weight his (which was a little smaller then mine) when he got home, at 43.5 lbs. So we are figuring that they weight around 50 lbs or so when we caught them.

Your only allowed to keep one fish a day. We just decided to take a picture with me and the two largest fish. Now I'm hooked and want to go again.
