the NM elk backdoor

For those of you who applied for elk in NM, apparently you can find out if you drew by logging onto the NMGF website, then clicking on Draw Hunts then the Review link associated with elk, and it will tell you if they charged your credit card (presumably in the Payments section).  I didn't get a hit, but a bunch of guys on MM have.

I would so love to draw NM Sheep.  That would just about blow my year out of the park.

Damn-it :bash:

My thoughts exactly.

Bummer to get blanked in WA yesterday, and blanked on NM elk today.  Probably a good thing though, since I'll want that extra time to scout for my raffle sheep tag.    :chuckle:

Got a credit card hit of $ 760.00 this morning at 03:45.  Will be archery hunting elk in 16D, 16A or 17.  Drew 16D rifle in 2006 and archery deer in 2C last year.  New Mexico loves me  :IBCOOL:

VERY NICE Spooner!  Can't say I'm not jealous.  The NM gods like you.  Maybe I'll find out I drew that 2C deer tag tomorrow.

BTW, did the credit card hit show up in the Payments section?

I found out in the draw results section of my account, then reviewed my application.  It showed the 12.00 charge for the application then 760.00 with today's date.  I verified with my credit card co. the 760.00 charge.

I just looked again and they had the whole site shut down in anticipation of people checking their draw results.

I did, however, just get an email saying I drew a deer tag.  That's not particularly exciting though, since we put down a mediocre hunt as our last choice.  But if they're sending emails, you'd probably know by now if you drew any tags, not just elk.

I may have a new low...I got an email from NM saying I drew a deer tag.  We had a couple sweet tags for our first and second choices, and an okay (and historically easy to draw) tag as our 3rd choice.  So figured worse case we drew that third tag (about 75% draw odds).  Just found out we checked the 4th choice box on our application (I wasn't the leader), which is basically for leftover tags.  The hunt we drew is a September archery hunt in a random unit.  You don't have to buy the tag, so basically I drew nothing since there's no chance I'll go.  I had a glimmer of hope and then they yanked it from me!

Come on raffle!
