How do I fix this rifle stock?
« on: December 26, 2023, 12:47:28 PM »
After opening up the barrel channel while I was prepping the stock to bed the action I discovered this place where there was no carbon/kevlar fiber. Looks like it was patched before it was painted. These voids were filled but it did not adhere to the rest of it. Once the paint was removed it basically just fell out.

Was thinking of filling voids with marine Tex and just skimming the rest of the channel while keeping it floated to seal it all up again. Will this be strong enough?

There is no fiber in the bottom of the channel from where the pitting begins in the white resin and all the way back to the bedding on one side. Would this be typical construction of a stock?

I cleaned up the action bedding tonight. Will try and get it finished in the next couple days.
