I thought that flinching might be a problem and put a muzzle brake on it.  It's really load but it's just a puppy to shoot now.  Great rifle - Tikka T3 .300WSM.  I don't shoot it too often anymore since I mostly bowhunt, but I take it out every once in while when I save up about $1M for a box of ammo.

The saving grace was hitting the deer - because of that I just thought getting whacked by the scope was funny.  If I had missed, it would have probably been the worst thing to ever happen to me and I would have cried about it for the rest of the hunting trip.

At least the only bandaids we had in camp were blue with Barney the dinasour on them.  I got to walk around with that stuck on my forehead for a couple of days until I got back to town.

Have a little scar on my forehead from shooting my first scoped rifle when I was about 11 yo.  Once I shook the cob webs off, all I cared about was the fact that I hit the bulls-eye.  Lesson learned, the stock must be against your shoulder, not in your arm pit.  That was 31 years ago, I bow hunt now also.

The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
