I'm Excited Clack Packboard
« on: January 30, 2024, 10:13:39 AM »
I knew I had one for sure that was good and one that I thought might need repairs.  It turns out I have three.   These were no doubt from my Grandpa as he worked for the forest service back in the 20's or 30s.   I'll have to narrow that down.   Anyhow I remember growing up and knowing these were the packboards my Dad used.  They hung on the wall down by our snowshoes.  I always though wow, what uncomfortable things those must be.   The last time I remember him packing something out with one was his goat.

anyhow, one for a muley mount, and I am going to put together a trapper on in memory of my grandfather, and I am not sure what I will do with the third, it alone is a momento.

Cool.  After reading the description I can't imagine spending the night out there with a 4 foot square of canvas for cover.
