Bald eagle myths!
« on: May 19, 2024, 09:43:13 PM »
I recently had some other people tell me about how bald eagles break their beaks, pull their talons off, and pluck all their feathers when they turn 40 taking about 150 days! Yep, there were even some hunters in the group who believe it. When the feather plucking was included, instantly caused me the cough BS.

Sad part is believing feathers can be 40 years old on a live bird is crazy.  But try to explain the basic molting cycle for most bird if not all birds, most think you should go to the loony bin.
