Need help identify this fish
« on: June 08, 2024, 05:40:29 PM »
My first thought was that it’s a sea run cutty but then after looking at the photo some more I’m just not sure. The white tip on the anal fin has me second guessing.  Usually I’m pretty good at identifying trout. What say you all?

Sorry should have provided more info. This was caught late November in the North River unit 30 mins south of Aberdeen. There were also some coho in the same water that were spawned out.

Thought the same thing, would’ve helped seeing the mouth. Heads not quite pointed enough either.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

With only that picture to go on, I’m saying jack king.

You guys are spot on! That’s what’s great about this forum.  I wasn’t even thinking it could be a Jack. Thanks for the help, now we know.
