Can someone tell me where this "Desert" unit 290 is?

Deer like that don’t come around very often and when they do grow to that size and that age they are very very smart. If Karl and I would have competed for that buck what would have happened is we would have ended up pushing the envelope to hard and blowing him out for nether of us to have gotten. Karl went into the tag with a specific score of 190”+ and with that being the only buck of that caliber we had found and with all the time and work Karl put into finding him it was only right to let him have his opportunity at him. I was just glad to be a part of it.

He's for sure my biggest by a few inches.  My next best was a CO buck that took me 6 days to re-find and get killed.  I'm a procrastinator

That was certainly a big sacrifice: Good for you Hunter. If anyone on this forum "deserves" a fellow hunter to sacrifice for them, I'd vote for you, Karl. You've contributed in your always affable manner to other members.

Great write up. You put in the work and suffered the mosquitoes, sand, and sun. That appears to be the Blanchard way. You do your family proud. I hope you hunt an even larger buck someday and grace us with another compelling story.
