Ran Kumpel as primary this weekend. Outstanding job but still has a Ston of puppy in him. Retrieves are almost perfect. Topped the weekend off with a tight holding rooster. He eyeballed the shot from the thick and his ultra excitement got him through 30yds of cattails in seconds. Coming back was a bit tough with a phez in his face. That little proud dog paraded circles around me with it so I let him carry til squirrel!

The little PIB has learned to let old Panz make the water trieves and he'll pick up doubles
Then he'll proud pose as if he did the work!

Young fella learned today he can make a solid retrieve then squeeze in a quarter mile ADHD sprint before I get set up again. Wirehairs ain't meant for sittin but can suffer it like a pro

Both dogs had a great weekend with huge numbers of birds and tight shooting.

Great season end for Kumpel. Stayed close and played blackjack. Really impressed me for a first full season. Fewer upland and waterfowl trips for us due to work n vacations but the little fella managed 242 retrieves of his own and only losing 9 birds. Next season he should be filled out and a powerhouse.
