Hate to break it to you but loads of cities right here in washington already have knife size laws, small are ok, anything over some dreamed up length is a deadly weapon. Switch blades or assisted openers are also against many city laws.

I am sheltered living in a small eastside town.....thank god....

I know certain kinives are illigal, but they are going way too far on some of this, and if you get right down to it, it's not the knife , the gun, or the car, it's the person behind them that is the problem.

Unbelievably stupid!!! I'm sure my everyday carry is outlawed, I just don't care. When will "they" get it, anything can be used as a deadly weapon.

Did anyone see the new stab proof knifes "they" are pushing in the U.K.? WOW! Save us from our selves OHHh great ones!!!

I know my Benchmade is illegal unless I carry it in uniform.  It's a push button operated knife that I was ISSUED.

i think if it opens by itself when it gets to the 30% open point it is illegal here. i can remove the spring in my crkt my tighe and make it legal everywhere if need be. they design it that way. currently they might as well call it a switchbalde though the  way it works. i think it is within the 30% zone though...

Actually, gay marriage is NOT legal in most states.  The only benefits being recently extended to same-sex couples are the ones you now enjoy (if you are married). Such benefits have been provided locally by Washington State's legislature, not Obama.

It is all about equality under the law.  It took a while for some folks to recognize people of color as equal citizens, too.

(Sorry for the brief hijack. I agree with all of you that these knife laws are crap, too.)

OH YEAH! Make knives illegal!

NOT!

 :jacked:

So get this... Here in Bellingham there's and ordinance outlawing STUN GUNS and TASERS. (as far as I know, the coucil approved that motion)

So, you can't carry a non-lethal form of protection, but, BUT, since Washington is an 'Open Carry' state, We can carry a gun!

Yep, I'm just a dumb ol farm boy, no fancy "special" tuff looking knife for me. Mine is just one o them 3 1/2" bladed Case knives, was me grand-pappy's afore me.

Yep, mine just looks like something a farm boy would carry.....not scary at all. Hell they even let me carry it inside the courthouse.....not threatening at all.

Bet me I can't use it as good as anybody with a "Tactical" knife....   ;)

I think it is hilarious that I can carry open and concealed but I can't carry my Buck NightHawk that I bought at Sportmans.

Came across a very old switchblade at an estate sale, switchblades are illegal in Wa., it was so weak that I could open it and it would bounce off my hand. Gave it to a friend who could legally own it.

I wonder if they will start making us take CCK classes.

little toes youd never carry that knife into a court room over here. and a lot of other places. Many citys have laws that over 2.25 inch or some other number its not a knife, it a "deadly weapon"

I work in Spokane, so its just been easier for me to purchase my CWP there(of course they now insist I purchase my permit in Colville), and when I went into the court house, where you have to walk through a metal detector they have a table with two red lines. If you knife does not fit between those lines, its a 'no-go', but they took one look at my "farm-knife", which did not fit between the lines by about an inch, the lady just handed it to me and said 'don't worry'.

so, simple thinking should tell folks, stay away from the obvious 'dangerous' looking knives that are "Cooool", and buy something that is socially acceptable, or don't, and deal with the regs.
