Youth season GMU 124
« on: September 05, 2024, 06:14:44 PM »
Hi everyone, Im trying to get my sons first deer any advice for hunting GMU 124?  I know lots of people purchase IEP pass i believe its the same one they sold out at white boots. Do you know of any place or website that sell day pass for Hunting in private property? Also “Any deer”  means buck or doe? just need clarification i read online but it still scares the crap out of me not being sure. Ive only hunted mule deer all my hunting career, any information would be appreciated.  i could help with some mule deer hunting, i have access to some private property with crazy mulies. my son is just crazy about getting himself a whitetail. Thank you.

Yep, yep. Either Buck or Doe. Either Mule deer or whitetail if there’s any chance of a mule deer there. Have no info on the IEP or private property. Best hunting to you two!

The youth is any deer (buck or doe) whitetail only. The Mule deer falls into the general season so it will close on the 22nd and is three point min.

IEP permit is now sold online. Whites boot no longer sells them. 124 is where our current case of CWD was found but he shouldn’t have an issue finding a doe.

And this is why you don't take legal advice from an internet forum. He cannot shoot a Mule Deer doe. Knocking on doors or IEP will be your best bet. I can't speak on the rest of the unit, but the northern portion in my neck of the woods has taken a beating over the last few years. They are definitely still around, just not the numbers that used to be.
