Anyone tried Winchester's StaBall 6.5
« on: September 09, 2024, 10:18:08 AM »
Has anyone use Winchester StaBall 6.5 for rifles?

I have some loaded for my 6.5x55 Swede - 140 grain Nosler BT, but have not had a chance to shoot them yet.

yes, that is my go to powder. Both staball 6.5 and match. It meters consistently and prints a very nice group.

We have tried it and it is a great powder.  We didn’t get any better performance form that of our previous loss with H4350 so we stuck with the H4350.   That said….if I didn’t have a good supply of H4350, staBall 6.5 would be a likely replacement in my 6.5 creed.

Nice,  The StaBall 6.5, & Match are more available than IMR powders and cheaper as well at Costal Farm & Ranch.

The numbers look really good in 7-08 the Hodg magazine manual. Like 200fps faster than everything else and at 39$ a bottle its a sweet deal.

Its the first on my list to try when benchmark is done with my 7 SAW barrel here any day now. Ive read the SD's arent great but the rifle is going to be so light that it will stay inside 500 yards anyway.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
