What's the best River Otter lures that you've used here in Washington State?
Thanks in advance,
Goshawk

I was fishing for bass a couple years ago from a dock using a spinnerbait. An otter showed up and started chasing the lure. I did figure-8's with the lure beside the dock for about 5 minutes while the otter chased the thing around. I kept it at least a few inches ahead of the otter since I really didn't want to deal with a hooked otter.

Probably not the "lure" you're referring to.... :)

I was thinking more in line with a trapping application than fishing, but that would be one heck of a fight on a pole!  Netting might get tricky too.

My #1 is:  Otter gland works best. When you catch an otter take the gland out and bottle the liquid.
Put very little and I mean very little of that gland on a stick a toothpick would be best and put it behind the trap paddle.
If you use more than that they will run off.

Fish oil is my #2 lure.
Good Luck,
JC   :hello:

Thanks. Not as interesting as a spinner, but a lot more helpful.
