Beaver Bait Station - (Formerly First Trail Cam Set - Issues)

:) (5) 'protein supplements',  :dunno: (1) bad Sasquatch impression, and lots of bear pics :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: ....

The 3/32 cables I added to secure the 'protein' did the trick.  This seems to be a sizable bear and all of the cables stayed intact.  I put the picture of myself in by the tree for sizing reference - I'm 6'1, 220 and that bear makes it to about hip level.  Those beaver are all 40lbs plus and there wasn't much left after a 9 days - a few ribs, some hide, and some back bones.

The last pic was from Halloween - those shining eyes are a little spooky :yike: He's just about done with the beaver that was on that tree.  He had it yarded around to that back side - I think he was a little camera shy..... :chuckle:

I take it you are pretty much after bear, bobcat or cougar then.

For this area I thought that is all I would get, which is what I was after, but if you look back at some of my earlier posts you'll see a couple of different deer that weren't deterred by all the other activities going on there :dunno:

Good pics, What side of the mountain are you getting these, wetside or east? Just a hobby cause u sure cannot hunt them there now with bait stations.

Wet Side.  Yep, every thing but bear would be legal to shoot.  I hope to get a stand up some time this winter to try and take the yotes or hopefully a kitty.

Just wondering but is leaving the beavers there like that considered waste of wildlife? Isn't that illegal? :dunno:just asking.

:hello:  As they were all caught on nuisance trapping permits, there should be no issues with disposing of them.  I figure this is a lot better than going into a dumpster in black plastic bags.  I just ran through the regs and waste of wildlife only pertains to game fish, game birds, and game animals.  As beaver are a furbearers, they do not fall under that rule.  I agree though, it does not feel quite right just to chuck em. The fur will be getting better soon, so if any one wants one, let me know, and I'll hook you up with some big smelly beaver :chuckle:

That was me in that pic.  I keep waiting to find some pics of some one freaking out when they find this spot - hopefully the cameras survive. It does look a bit gory. :puke:  I also keep expecting to get a call from WDFW when some one finds it and thinks that I have a bunch of snares set there, catching entire herds of beaver at once.......
