Rimrock any bull archery
« on: June 23, 2009, 01:44:21 PM »
Hey All,

Both of my brothers were drawn for Any bull rimrock Archery. While we intend on scouting as much as possible (since we normally hunt clockum), I thought I would post that if anyone has any tips (not honey holes, I dont want them), or thoughts, I would post this in an effort to have them be successful, as neither of my brothers are on here much.

I went over last weekend to scout for a bit...it looks like it is going to be a challenge for them.  ;)

I couldnt stay too long, but I did see a whopping 5 elk, two spikes, 3 cows.

Thanks in advance. Feel free to send PM's if you like. I figured, it couldnt hurt to ask. Again, I dont want any honey holes, just any sort of tip/idea would be cool.

Thanks~

Happy hunting.~

I will give you my 2 cents......I drew this tag 5 years ago.......scouted it several times.........and decided to get as far away from people as possible.......so.....I packed into Mccall Basin near the goat rocks wilderness. Seen several elk.....into elk everyday and shot a 311 bull on the 5th day. Also my hunting buddy shot a 280....... snowed the next day and started to see some real nice elk then.......did see a bull with a collar that was very nice.....to far to tell how nice...........also seen some nice deer and a few good goats......great hunt....I did not even know I was hunting in WAshington.....7 days in there only ran into 2 hikers on the creat trail.........good luck...........

No elk in there, a long hard hike and unless you are there in the first week of September the elk are not in there.
