Baker Lake Sockeye 2025
« on: March 23, 2025, 06:43:52 PM »
Looks like a July 12th opener this year. Hopefully being a week later there will be quite a few more fish in the lake. Staying with a 4 fish limit. Wouldn't mind seeing that at 3.

2025 Baker Lake Sockey opens July 6 with limit of 4 sockeye.  Please always remember to refer to WDFW site for ACCURATE information!  For timely information on the run and how the catch is going, refer to bait and tackle shops CLOSEST TO THE FISHERY YOU'LL BE IN for knowledgeable, current information (Holiday Sports in Burlington for current reports from fishermen on Baker Lake).  Boats start lining up at the launches about 2:00a.m. on opening day, and reservations for the campgrounds with launches fill fast.  Please make sure your running lights work, as the lake is crowded with boats running in the dark.  Have a great season!
Where are you getting your information? WDFW is saying July 12 with a 6 fish limit.

I STAND CORRECTED!  To the point of always check WDFW before opening mouth. :yike:  Their policy is now to open the first Saturday after the 4th, but that apparently means unless the 4th is connected to a Saturday. I removed the erroneous info.

Got to look closer at the language in the Draft regs from 4/12/2025.

It says "July 12 – Aug. 31 (First Saturday after July 4th WEEKEND)".
