I have one that I have had since the late 80s got it used. Ive put conservative estimate of 3000 rounds through it. No complaints and honestly ran it pretty dirty alot.

Being a poor boy I have used it for waterfowl, upland, trap ,sporting clays.

Still use it now and then .

Great gun, I have 2 of them, used them on everything. Good and cheap you don"t have to worry about damaging it.

Thick heavy barrel and aluminum receiver makes them muzzle heavy.  I shot one in the 1970s and 80s and liked it.  Very slick, fast pump action.  They got no respect, but I shot mine well and never had reason to fault it.  It was stolen or I would probably still have and use it.  I put three to five hundred shells/week through it for about three years.  It was a real workhorse.

Now am I right in thinking that you cannot interchange barrels between the 1300 Defender and the 1300 field gun?

My main gun for 20 years. Fastest pump gun out there. 3"" shells got sticky on occasion. Switched back to 20s, one being an SXP. The 1300 is my house and farm gun these days.

Magazine tube length, but you can make a tube that slides over the long tube in front of the loop and use a field barrel.  The mag nut can also be replaced by a weight.  There used to be accessory mag tube extenders that screwed on in place of the nut.
