Do stereo's affect fish

Looking for some input or thoughts.  Thinking about putting a stereo in my fishing boat.  Would not have sub woofers or any speakers mounted in the hull, but would mount up some wakeboard type speakers on the tower.  Any thoughts or experiences with stereos in boats for fishing?  Hoping for someone who did not have then added and if they noticed any affect on catch rates.

I just replaced a non-working stereo in my Lund and after fishing with both the non-working and the new stereo I haven't noticed any difference in catch rates. If I was mounting speakers to a towing tower I would be more worried about the effect it had on fishermen around me than the fish.
(Fish can't throw things & won't call you names) You really don't want to be that guy.
A nice thing about a stereo in your boat is you'll be able to catch a Sunday game or two while you're out on the water. I do alot of trolling on Rufus Woods and I have found that it's nice to have a remote handy while listening because when you troll by someone else you'll be able to turn the volume down and hear them when they ask how many ya caught.

when I play rap,the fish like gold spinners,presented real slow with a 36"gold chain for a leader.never have caught a keeper ...Ive never thought about tunes on the water or hunting..I wonder if it would make a difference..good ?

Totally agree and I won't be THAT guy.  But part of the negotiating process for a new boat is that it can be used by the kids for their wake boarding.  They are only home two months a year, and I can give up a day or two of fishing for a new boat.  If it had a stereo I would use it, but not for jamming to some AC/DC or Ozzy while fishing.  I've been in a few pleasure boats with huge stereos and the water will ripple near the hull.  Obviously that has to put some bad vibes in the water.

It has been "scientifically" reported that Sturgeon actually like AC/DC and other classic rock bands.  And then the Over Sized fish really like RUSH for some reason or another.  (At least it works for me.)  I do not believe it bothers the fish at all, I play music alot and never had any issues.  An old charter Captain in AK used to put on the theme music for Jaws when you had a big one on, cranked up.   A friend would crank Thunder Struck for big Kings, Me, it's Rock and Roll #1 when it comes for my big fish theme songs....  You know the tune--- Da na, da nu na, Da na, nu na na, HEY!  Ever since this CRS (can't remember *censored*) has hit, it is the easiest song for me to remember the words!

Kenai Kings like country.  if we're having a slow day I break out the portable radio turn on so country and bam fish on.  I don't know why but it happens a lot more than not.  The weird thing is I don't even like country but the fish do.

Klick, It was the Deshka/Little Sue/Alexander Rivers and occasionally Willow creek if water was high enough to gain entry, that liked AC/DC, no real tests were conducted on the Kenai due to my small Kenai boat not having a radio....  But rumor had it that BlueGrass also got them going down there, especially in the Kenai flats area....

they love music, I just got my stereo put in my sld and they love it!! abd oversize seem to like metal, not acdc....... but I LOVE acdc

....you read me wrong...I WILL be listening to AC/DC, OZZY, METALLICA, ZZ, Nickel Back, CCR, STEVE Miller, et all...just not echoing across the water while fishing.  Sounds like I need to get the stereo ordered.  The boat I have fished out of for the last five years does not have a stereo in it thanks for the input.

Zactly that!!!!  Plus the wife said she would go fishing more with a stereo!  And yes that is a good thing for many reasons.

I do not know about the rest of you.....but when I go fishing I "try" to get away from all the noise (including music) and crowds, but that is just me.

I know that when I was bass fishing a lot that any noise in the boat, including a radio would spook them off.  I think that is depends on the type and depth of the water.  Fast moving water makes it's own noise and wouldn't be as much of a factor.  Deep water has a chance to disperse some of the sound.  If you are deep sea fishing, trolling or in the river I would say that it probably has very little effect.  Also how spooky the species of fish also might have something to do with it.
