Snow has been tough, I’ve been holding off lion hunters in hopes of better conditions. We finally had our first hunter and as luck would have it snow turned to rain again the day Larry arrived. He is doing our Idaho wolf-lion-bobcat combo. So the hound hunting is pretty tough but it’s ok trapping weather. Brian found a lion track but it was rained out. At one of the bobcat sets a bobcat missed the trap, at another bobcat set a wolf was investigating but didn’t get close enough and at the wolf sets the wolves hadn’t been through again yet. This morning, the third day Brian and Larry got a break, the wolf came back to the bobcat set and was caught by two toes in the bobcat trap. It’s amazing on all accounts to get that wolf but a great day on the mountain.
