Hampton Lumber Non-Motorized Permit
« on: April 23, 2025, 02:24:06 PM »
For the first time this year, I bought a non-motorized permit for the Hampton Lumber North Cascades property. Can someone who has purchased the non-motorized permit before explain how parking works?

I was under the assumption when I bought it, that I'd be able to park outside the gate, with some sort of tag indicating that I'm a paying customer, and not have my rig towed.

When I emailed My Outdoor Agent asking, they sent me a link to the North Cascades National Park website. They said the website has info on general parking. The plot of land I purchased the permit for is nowhere near North Cascades National Park.

I called the phone number for My Outdoor Agent, and i was greeted by the same person who sent the email  :bash: .

Any info from you all?

I don't know a thing about Hampton but I think all timber companies do it the same.  You park outside of the gates and walk in.  As long as you are parked correctly and not blocking the road or gate you should be good to go.  I don't think you will get a tag for your truck.  Those tags are usually for motorized access only.

Which area are you trying to access?

I am assuming this is the permit you are talking about.

The permit gives access to 4 or 5 different parcels in the North Cascades area. Specifically, I'm looking at a plot of land near Granite Falls that wraps around Jim Creek Naval Station. The access gate per the maps they provide is right on Mountain Loop Highway.

According to question number 7 it looks like you just print your permit and carry it with you. There is no vehicle hang tag. I think I would leave a copy of that permit on my dash when I park and take a copy with me just to be safe.

That's what I was planning on doing. Just would be nice to get a straight answer from them.
