There are 4-10x more pinks kept in 8-2 than coho.   :chuckle:

And they seem proud of it.

We Everett anglers are overachievers for sure.  Completely put on a show for the Mukilteo and Camano guys.

They could write tickets until they ran out of ticket books this year.

The creel reports show the number of boats and people that were checked at that specific launch and not that the fish were caught in 8-2. The fish checkers at 8-2 launches don’t mark on their sheet that the fish being checked were area 8-2 or area 9 fish, etc. I watched the fish checker at Mukilteo launch interviewing fisherman and they weren’t marking on their sheets what area the fish were being caught in.

The reports are by marine area, you can see each launch and what those launching from there caught in each marine area.  The checkers specifically ask what area you caught the fish, how many anglers, what times you were fishing, how many you released, etc.

You can search for Everett and see how many fish Everett launchers caught from 8-2, 10 or any area.

You can also search by marine area the fish were caught in.  On 8/19, a total of 47 pinks were caught in 8-2 from those that were interviewed by a checker.  The actual amount is much higher, not everyone is interviewed.

Yeah, “What area were you fishing in?”  That’s usually their first question.  I’ve been interviewed dozens of times at Muk and I’ve always been asked where I caught the fish.  And, yes, they record that.

The report above shows that fishermen were illegally retaining pinks in MA 8-2 and they told they fish checker about it when interviewed.  Not like they were trying to hide it.  Well, maybe some were but they would likely tell the checker they caught the pinks in MA 9 or 10.

The checkers just check and record the results; they don’t write citations.

But this is a Coho thread, and there are not many Coho showing up in the reports yet.  Aug 19 from anglers interviewed at Muk:
2 Coho caught in MA 9
0 Coho caught in MA 10
2 Coho caught in MA 8-2

We fished 9 and 10 on Sunday.  Didn't matter how deep we went and how fast, we kept catching pinks. Caught pinks clear down at 130' on the wire at 2.5-3mph.

It's strange, there were more coho caught a week before, maybe weeding through residents?

Anyway, I wise fisherman once told me to not get excited until 9/1.
