I finally get to the one to ask around. I was surprised to find out I drew the new late (November 1-15) rifle bull tag for unit 31 in Idaho. I have some general questions if anyone is willing to answer them in a PM
I intend to hunt the northern end of the unit and have some specific canyons and glassing points picked out that I hope to go scout out late June. Questions I have are, there are what appear to be several mainline roads accessing the top end of the unit, are those open or gated?
Do the bigger bulls tend to move down into that huge WMA or tend to still be up high in November?
I will likely have up to all 15 days to hunt the the unit and I tend get away from roads to hunt pretty hard for higher quality bulls. I also have a buddy who loves glassing and is going to come out for a while to help out. What class of bull should I be holding out for and what is a day one shooter?
Any other tips?
