First time hunting JBLM, going for Black Bear and Black Tails. Been putting boots on the ground. Looking for any advice or someone that wants to join in.

I took a nice deer in there quite a few years ago. I found the JBLM permit process easy and quick. The hunting part was typical Washington close in shot with lots of trees in the way. It was for sure a 'spot and stalk' hunt.
On another outing there for bear I had scouted an area I wanted to hunt, got in before it got light, hunted for about 6 hours. Got back to the truck to find a HUGE pile of bear poop beside the drivers door I had to avoid while getting into the truck to leave.
I should have just sat down by the truck when I got there!
Best of luck to you.

If you haven’t yet, you’ll have to obtain the isportsman permit before recreating on JBLM. This is a newer requirement for anybody who wishes to hunt, fish, etc in any of the training areas.

Good luck!
