Back Strap Pot/Crock Roast
« on: August 19, 2025, 11:47:48 AM »
I recall some threads mentioning the Mississippi pot roast recipe. Its a very simple recipe it will come up if you google it. I added some broth to the crock pot but not a ton. Recently, I did it with an entire backstrap from a mule deer. I did not even cut off the silver skin, like any of it. It turned out amazing. The strap did not dry out, the silver skin brought nothing negative to it, and it was a hit among those who had it. The left overs I would add some bone broth to and have it like a soup. I encourage anyone to do this recipe; I added potatoes, onions, carrots and celery to mine.
