Saw these little bandits today
« on: June 28, 2009, 06:50:00 PM »
I go outside on my deck around lunch for some reason...look to my left and theres a female momma coon about 4 ft from me. She went under the deck and growled, so I let her be for a bit.

I got to watch her and the babies for about 20 minutes. Cute little buggers...even called her in once with my predator call. One climbed about 12 ft up a tree and peaked over at the neighbors.

Had one at the neighbors the other day feeding in their maple and cherry. Pretty hagard looking.

Hard to believe that something so cute and innocent looking could be such a terror and trouble maker hey.

They are like miniture bears.  Damn they are tough, and sure can tear a dog or cat up with ease.

You guys are all crazy.  In my head they act just like they do in "The Great Outdoors".   :chuckle:

We had a mom and three little ones on the correctional facility grounds that I used to work at.  They are smart critters.  I watched her teach them how to climb trees and raid the dumpsters... it was quite a sight.  The feral cats didn't stand a chance when they tangled with the raccoons.

The wife keeps feeding them off the deck here in Lacey. Three groups, Momma and three babies, and two distinct loners....

I was hoping the coons would keep the neighborhood cat population in control... :chuckle:
