Speer deep curl performance
« on: Yesterday at 08:17:03 PM »
This year I was fortunate enough to finally able to harvest a bull with my muzzleloader and in turn see what the equipment and specifically what the Speer Deep Curl .452 300 grain pill was capable of. The shot was somewhere between 100-110 yards quarting to. Bullet impacting forward in his left shoulder and coming to a rest just under the hide center shoulder on the opposite side the elk ran approximately 50 yards after being hit stood there for a minute and collapsed/died. Didn't find any blood on the ground but didn't really look either. Bullet expanded beautifully and performed very well as far as I'm concerned.

Great Job!!!  I wondered how the Deep Curls would work.  Looks like they work just fine.

The Deep Curls make a great muzzy bullet. I had 2 full boxes of them I was going to use in my muzzy but 1 box was in my kit that got stolen a couple years ago when my truck got broke into. I still have a box in my safe. Been planning on getting some sabots and getting a load worked up for my Bighorn. But have been using what I have left of my Lehighs.

Dont think Speer makes the Deep Curls anymore do they?

And yes. Congrats on the bull!
