I heard of people getting smelt. Yesterday there was no indication any were in.
My brother in law went to Longview this morning and said he didnt see any sign of smelt.

Easy limits. Full net first dip, my wife even got her net full, first dip. Got our limits and dumped the rest back in the river. Because of all the the bad info on the internet, there were only about 6 dippers on the north end where we were. And we could see for about 2 miles. Took a whole 10 minutes from start to finish. Done at 8:10. We went to Bobs in longview, everyone was whining about no fish. I asked them if they tried dipping. Got a no answer. I took them outside and showed them the smelt. They ended up buying 2 nets and took off to the river. I can gurantee a good run for Saturday. There was a boulder just I need the water, and the smelt were piled on each other and getting pushed over the rock. All big males only 4 females in the 2 limits. I suspect they will be open again next wed. and sat too. We will see if I am right.

I wouldn't think so. But dont quote me.
There are a lot of smelt in. Solid black line 2 feet wide right against the bank in a couple spots I looked a little bit ago.

I believe the Columbia river endorsement only apply to salmon and steelhead. Don't qoute me, but I can't find anything that's says any diiferent. And wdfw just says everyone needs a current fishing license.

Went down to river with the grandkids to get our 4 limits.  First dip was 28lbs., stuck the net in the black line of fish for about 1 second, and had the rest.

Anyone going to Riverside in Lexington, lots of parking in the back. Dorks up front are clogging the west side highway by trying to get in the front lot. Just fyi
