Where to buy beef?
« on: March 05, 2026, 08:11:06 AM »
The local grocery store isn’t cutting it anymore.  Their selection keeps declining, prices keep increasing, the cuts keep getting smaller and the quality keeps declining.

Where’s the best place to buy beef these days?

Here’s a couple ranches that sell in Skagit County, plus a butcher that sells in bulk as well as single meal cuts.

Del Fox has shops in Skagit, and Snohomish county.

I will have 6 beef that go down in October of this year. I am on the eastside, probably not ideal location, and it's 7 months away, but thought I would offer.

Good luck with you search.

Can I have 10-20 pounds of suet when you butcher?
Hopefully I’ll remember asking and you’ll remember answering by then  :chuckle:

We finish about 20-30 black angus every year.  Not sure about availability this year, but we can put you on our list.  Major increase in folks buying local beef.  We grain finish ours on oats and barley, so it is marbled.  We have references from this forum.

My wife and I buy from Del Fox. We buy other meats at Costco, but beef at Fox.

30-40 lbs hamburger at a time.

Not close to you, but we've bought bulk beef (1/4 beef) from Double Rafter in Ellensburg.  They offer both grass fed and grain finished.  No feed lots, no antibiotics.  I like getting every part of the cow instead of selective cuts.  Other than that, we rely on Costco for specific cuts for the smoker or steaks.
