Even worse is hunters who don’t have clue cheering them on ,on Facebook comments.

This is all about getting rid of the Director and being orchestrated by Smith, Baker because the director asked the governor to investigate.

It seems they left out the other half of the commissions mandate: What it is
The Commission establishes policies to preserve, protect, and perpetuate fish, wildlife, and ecosystems while providing sustainable fish and wildlife recreational and commercial opportunities compatible with healthy and diverse fish and wildlife populations.

What they said:
WDFW failed in its duty to “preserve, protect, perpetuate, and manage” state wildlife on behalf of all current and future Washingtonians.

They also said :
beavers, which are essential to mitigating climate change by cooling streams, creating natural firebreaks, reducing flooding, and creating habitat for other species.

Beavers by their nature dam up streams to flood an area. Do they mean reduce flooding in one area because a different area is flooded?

There statistic is that 2% of Washington residents hunt is probably accurate. The problem is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease and we hunters are never unified and just let them slowly erode away our rights.

Thank you Pianoman for posting this! I learned something new, didn't know he worked for the rewilding institute. Not once has he ever provided real evidence based in science. Im sure his papers have never been broadly released for review, they're all probably all echo chamber reviews by his friends. Seriously, thank you Pianoman! This helps inform people and lets them know what we're up against. We still have a long way to go, but our community here in WA is more informed than it's ever been. Its so nice to finally see this. Huge difference then when I first got involved back in 22.

Glad to help. I followed that link and the first thing I noticed was the phone number. I said to myself "Self, that's an odd area code for WA."...and dug a little deeper. I suspect all of those organizations are being funded by HSUS or the like.

I think at this point most of us are just plain numb to the crap that WDFW does without listening to input from hunters and fishermen.
WDFW will do exactly what they want and don't give one rip about hunters and fishermen anymore.
Par for the course nowadays as this is how the Governor runs the State as well. We the people mean nothing to him other than tax revenue that he can use as he see's fit.
Time for a new entity to manage our critters...

Ending lethal predator control? How about they put all the problem bears, cougars, etc in his backyard so he can try to rehabilitate them. If he lost a kid or pet maybe reality would set in and realize we tried that and exactly why grizzlies and wolves were hunted to near extinction, because they are apex predators and so are we…. Only one of us can remain on the landscape and be the apex. Unless you’re down with them coming and taking a pet or kid tax from now and then for letting you live on their home turf.
