270 with 140 accubonds
« on: March 26, 2026, 10:10:07 PM »
Hello, tried another site but have not gotten any replies. Was wondering if anyone has loaded these using IMR 4831sc or W760 powder? I have used IMR 4831. It looks like you can get more speed with these powders. I am shooting an old Ruger M77 with a 22" barrel. Any advice or help would be great. Thanks Tom

That will be a great combination! Wish I could help with data, I just haven't loaded IMR 4831 or w760 & 140 accubonds. We uses RL-19 with the 140 accubond in the 270 win, and we have filled the freezer many, many times with deer, and one big cow elk. We use the recipe for RL-19 right out of the Nosler manual.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

When I loaded for .270 win, we shot the 140 accubond with H4350 with really good results.  Also H414, which worked really well.
