Bucket List Elk shed help wanted
« on: Today at 07:08:01 AM »
Yeah I know its a secret but still gonna ask  :P

At 61, I am running out of time to cross this off my list. I have no problems finding deer sheds, but not a single elk one.....outside of deadheads.

I have spent some time looking in the "greater Colockum" area to no avail.  Would be tickled pink to even find a rotten white one.

My question is WHERE should I be looking? Sage, timber, migrating trails, N/S slopes, elevation (what I feel I may be off on) but assume that could change from year to year depending on snow.

ANY help would be appreciated and NEVER shared    Please respond if inclined via PM    Thank you  :hello:

Call the WDFW biologist and ask where the herd tends to winter in mild winters such as what we have had. And also ask where they winter in harsh winters and then it’s boots on the ground.
