I have him on the hook Tom.   He hasn't slept since he held the 400.  All I need to do is let him touch it one more time and its a done deal.    I'll have to check your pics out tonight Jon.  Can't wait.

Doug, you are right, I am losing sleep over it. My plan was to order the 400 2.8 this past weekend, but I chickened out.

Was he looking at you or just looking around?

He was on to me most of the time. Just wan't sure what or where I was.

That's the lens I use!  In fact, it's about all I use anymore.  You'll love it.  Sweet thing about it is that autofocus will still work with either the 1.4x or 2x extenders on it.  Some folks say the 2x results in poor images, but when there's a good amount of light it's actually quite good.

If you get the 400 2.8, and have no use for the 100-400 anymore, you can throw it my way.     I would love the 100-400, just can't swing the price right now.  I definitely need a telephoto real soon though.

Interest'un!

I "Googled" Hellebore and read that the plant is extremly toxic. Roots, stalk, and leaves are all posionous, ..... to us at least.

Found this bear again in the same spot this afternoon. He's got a mouth full of cow parsnip.

I got a new lens, but the light was very harsh today (I'm full of excuses). I promise better pics next time.

The pictures may not be great, but at least you got to see him again.  Probably the same bear alecvg and I saw earlier in the morning.  Hopefully you'll have better luck with lighting next time.
