I think Will Primos gave a good testimony a couple years ago about how hard it was to hunt and film roosevelts.  You got to wonder why there aren't more videos of Roosevelt hunting?  I had contemplated getting a small video camera and giving it a try this year in the Toutle.  I think I will stick with just carrying the bow  ;)  Nice work Shannon!  Looks like 2007 was a tough year, glad to see the good times and the bad! I think we all can relate to losing a animal, I felt the guys pain! I am glad you left that on the film, that is hunting (bow hunting).

Please No Flaming, I am going to give you my honest review.  I know that there are people on here that have financial intrest in this dvd so I will try and keep it professional.

We picked this DVD up from Luck Shot on Saturday after the 3D shoot.  The front says 14 hunts. Went home and popped it in the dvd player.  My buddy picked it up so what I am writing below is what I remember.

I believe there are only 2 kills actually captured on film, there is also a hunt were you are able to see the shooter and not the elk.  There was also a wounded bull which was a monster.  The big bull on the cover was not captured on film, because the hunter was hunting solo.

One of the kill shots is a hard quartering torwards shot.  You can call it whatever you want but I have a hard time chalking stuff like that up to honesty.

Many of the hunts show a bull or let you listen to a bull, then there is a interview stating that the wind swirled.  I understand that this happens all the time, and it is hunting but I do not expect to sit down and watch that 10 times.

I give you guys credit for going out there and doing it and getting good footage, but I guess it just didn't meet my expectations for $16.00.

Although opinions are just that.  I think any footage of Roosevelt hunting is great to see.  Nice to hear the bulls interact in the wild.  Regardless of the kill shots, we can all learn a little from the footage and $16 is a cheap price to pay to hear some live action.....

Well worth the money to me.......

Shannon,

Your dad still have hounds?  I used the bird dog for him and the others in the younger years...  Miss those days, Dad's (Bob Archer) last dog finally passed away this year.

Keep up the good work with the videos!

Wow Kieth, No we sold all of the hounds a few years after bear and bobcat shutdown. I sold my last dog to Blueboy.  I sure miss those days as well... Its a shame that that tradition can no longer be passed down.... Be sure and tell your Dad we said hi.... Marble5 is his handle right?

Yep, that's him...  I was talking to him about the video and mentioned you had your dad in it..  After all the years of killing elk with the rifle and smokepole I gave the archery a run for the money last year and managed a nice 5x5 opening day on my own.  Gonna run the video camera a little this year as well with the buddies, ironically I had it out on the counter this morning charging it to check the battery life....  I'm going to check into a helmet cam to wear as the shooter, we'll see how that turns out!

Hopefully the animals will cooperate again this year...  Got lots of good pics on the trail cameras so far and got one big boy I'd love to get a shot at...  !
