Burris Scopes?

I am in the market for a new scope for my model 70 300 win mag and just price shopping around it seems like burris scopes have some of the best deals. i am looking at a 3.5 x 10 x 50mm. Priced out leupold and nikon and burris. burris wins the price battle hands down with a fulfield II. Does any one have one of these and how are burris scopes? Does the burrisplex reticle work well?

I have a Fullfield II 3x9 40mm.  It’s a good scope for the money.  Clear glass, accurate, holds zero.  It has the BDC reticle which I don’t care for.  But I’m old school; I shoot point blank, with holdover/under as required.

My son shoots a Tikka 270 WSM with a Burris 3-9X40 fillfield ll with the mil dot and he loves it.  Nice and clear.  No problems.

i have a fullfield II 6.5-20X50 on my 7mm and love it. it has fine plex reticle. very sturdy and clear. even at 20X

Burris makes very good scopes.  When I was in school in Colorado, we toured their facility.  They really torture test those scopes.

I have 2 of them, one on a 7mm mag and the other on a .22-250. I agree with the others on quality and clarity. The thing that I'm not that thrilled about is the magnification dial moves the eye piece. If you use flip up lense covers, the rear thumb button will not be in the same spot if you dial the scope. Can be frustrating in late season weather conditions.

my burris is my favorite scope. its one of there higher end models but im sure the same workmanship goes into all there products

A lady that works for me has a .300 Win Mag Rem 700 topped with a Burrisplex scope.  Seemed like a nice setup.  She said she was having trouble zeroing it, so I took it to the range and had a go at it.  Rifle held a tight group at 100 yds, but shot high and left about 3 inches.  I cranked the turrets as far as I could down and right, but it still shot a high-left group.  Don't know if it was the scope or the mounts.

Pathfinder, I would definitely take a look at the mounts, make sure they are square and in line.  I would also reset the turrets to zero, and re sight it in and see if that does not help... I had a guy that said his Leopold scope would not hold zero.  Sold it for 100.00.  I installed the scope on my gun, shot like a dream.  He came back to me, asked why his new scope would not shoot right.  (He insisted on installing it himself).  His rings were not aligned and was tweaking the scope tube, the base screws were not locktited in and were shot loose.  Some people have to learn the hard way.

If those two things are not the cause, have her call Burris.  They have an excellent cust. service department, and will be more than willing to make it right.

Have a ballistic plex has worked well for me,$200 for scope. held up on 338ultra.

Thanks for the tip Huntbear.  She actually sold the rifle last week to another guy that works for me (honestly, it was too much gun for her.  The thing weighs a ton and kicked like a mule.  I think her ex-husband bought it for himself for "her" birthday).  I told him that if he buys it the first thing he needs to do is get the scope re-set and see if that makes a difference.
