Went on a hike and made a terrible mistake...........

Well I was focusing on this one buck and didnt bother to pay attention to anything else and WAMM this guy jumps out from about 30 yards below me :'( would have been a terrible mistake if I was hunting..........well sorta cause I watched him and he bedded down again shortly...........

its the graveyard shift........have lots of time in the day  :chuckle: had the last two nights off though so I have caught up on sleep and just look at deer during the day

I feel your pain, Moss.  I did the same thing this past winter with Whitetails.  I was so fixated on a buck with a thin little 4x5 rack that I totally missed a nice heavy 5x5 that was much closer to me.  He busted right up out of his bed and the only photo I got was one as he ran away - just a pretty shot of his tail :(
