An Apschuseplan is the quota sort of speak for animals on a 3 year basis for heard management.

my buddy hasnt sent me the pic yet. it's a Roh deer buck spike. probably a year old. he weighed 14 kilos on the hook. finally got to shoot something with my fancy .223.  both lungs and he went about 20 feet.  this time of year we try to fill out as much of the apschuseplan as possible with weak deer like this one. herd management at it's finest.

shooting a yearling buck isnt herd managment. just because its a small yearling doesnt me its week. many a yearling spike grew to be a wall hanger. probly not in the area you and your buddy hunt though.

Its different with Reh. it is genetically more predictable
if they dont branch in the first year they dont have the jeans to become the zexer that is deutch preffered and the jagdmeister will definately want. 14 kilos is pretty big yearling so he definately should have had more going on in the rack department.

the doe's are pregnant for a year so the fawns are much more developed when born.

unlike the states, the rut is just starting here and a yearling reh buck will definately his stick if he can get a doe to hold still long enough so we try to catch them as soon as possible so that the zexers can do their thing.

but thanks fly.
