Modified Blacktail mount( Charlies Taxidermy)
« on: July 20, 2009, 03:26:09 PM »
This one is a local Blacktail that I wanted to do something a little different with. I made him more of a head up "I see you" look. I thought it turned out pretty cool. The customer seemed pretty happy about it! If he ever gets on here again Im sure he will say something  ;) The kickers on the base of this buck are pretty cool looking.

Is this something that was previously mounted and you took apart to modify or is it a new form you modified, Just curious if you can take a mount apart and re-do it to look a little different !!  :dunno: Looks really good either way !!!

I really like that form Bucklucky, how much modification did it entail?

Not a whole lot of altering , that is an easy alteration. Pretty much cut the head off, cut a little wedge oout of the back of the neck . Run some long screws down through the head and position it to where you want it. Then you build a makeshift dam out of cereal boxes, stretch wrap, whatever will hold the foam in liquid form . Mix some form and porr. Once it is set up cut it to the basic shape and wrasp or sand the rest to match. Goto make sure you put the muscles back in and in the right places. Real easy Mod.
