Worst Hunting Rigs
« on: July 26, 2009, 10:42:35 AM »
There have been some real winners that always break down when you are farthest from home or just don't seem to get you through the tough stuff. What do you think are the worst 5 hunting rigs ever made?

GMC should be considered as Chevy, Plymouth as Dodge, Lincoln as Ford, and so forth.

Never owned a volvo, but always heard they were such good rigs, what is their problem? :dunno:

Glad to see the infamous AMC Eagle atop the list!  I always wanted to see one of those things tricked out and jacked way the hell up, but I guess nobody would bother with such a worthless ride.

For getting stuck.  I saw three of them get stuck on one road.  Driver error and I am just guessing that the heavier Diesel engine had something to do with it and poor stock tires?

my friend's dad from high school had a gremlin on a CJ chassis. that thing was (not)awesome.

volvos are too expensive to fix, #2 in line behind saabs if you ask me.

subarus are good cars, it's just that most of us don't like subaru's because they portray the REI tree hugger crowd. the fact is they are good cars. probably one of the least common in my shop.

chevy's suck just as bad as fords suck, ice, which both suck just as bad as dodges suck.

i'll also venture a guess that says F-350's don't get stuck anymore than any other vehicle when the driver puts them in a place they don't belong. this is always a great discussion. remember it's not  guns that kill people, it's the people operating the gun. same goes for trucks.

I've always liked chevy, just disappointed with the newer independent front axles, they just don't last worth a darn if you use them a lot. Never had many problems with the old straight axles on the front, however, I will admit they were rough riding.

I agree with jackelope on the subarus, I know some doggers and trappers that put a ton of hard miles on them and they just keep going.

Of course there are not many votes against toyotas. The older ones are darn tough rigs, 300,000 miles is common, I don't know much about all these new toyota models???? :dunno:
