Shooter Blacktail
« on: July 31, 2009, 01:45:58 PM »
This guy was a 3x3 in 2006, 2007, and 2008.  This year he's a 3x4.  Most of the bucks I know from the past couple years appear smaller this year and I'm wondering if it's from the dry spring/summer.  One shed I have from a buck last year would indicate he'd be a solid 4 pt this year but I have pics of him (distinct G2 so I know it's him) and he's the same size as last year but only a 3 pt.  :dunno:

Nice pics.  I am wondering what my cams have been seeing in this hot weather

I didn't do well over the past two weeks.  I knew this buck was in the area so it's not impressive to have seen him twice but I only two other bucks and a doe on three cams.  When the first rain comes, it should be interesting.  I'm moving some cams to some recently 'acquired access' private lands.

I am planning on spending some time locating the water sources this weekend.  I was going to place my new camera and see how it did but it became the neighbor's dog chew toy.
