3 days of scumpy fishing?  Is that suppose to make us all happy for a disappointing king fishery?
By the way is the Skag picking up at all with only a few days left to go for kings?

The king season was a disappointment.  A few fish hear and there.  The nets did decent though.

Traditionally the Skagit king run has always peaked around the middle of August to the later part, so the few that were caught during the opener were most likely just strays.
I wonder if the Indians will continue netting after the 9th?

I'm sure the indians will continue netting.  They have full rights to the river.

A little blind squirrel told me that because a certain amount of whinning to have it open for the last weekend of the kings because of some sort of derby is possibly part of the reason and the amount of fish they are expecting, it will still be open for its normal season starting the 16th. Hope that helps clear it up for ya'll.

+1...caught a couple (bank bound) using spoons just upstream of burlington.

Saw half-dozen or so banked on sandshrimp.

They're in the Skagit thicker than I figured they would be, given how early it is. Water is clearing up, and has dropped a foot or so in the last couple days.

Tight lines!
I left it better than I found it...did you?

Another good evenning of pinks.  Limited out again.  I used spoons this go around as everyone was sold out on sandshrimp.  Good number of hens, should be hot again after the 16th.
