damn bears
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:06:30 PM »
I am still chasing this stupid bear around.....my feet haven't been dry in 2 days.....I hike until I cannot walk anymore....when I sleep I dream of bears then I get up and go do it again.... hubby is having fun following me around I think ....today I found footprints so obviously I cannot give up now  :P.....

it is like some sort of addiction.....  :o

When I saw this bear it was 2 days before season and I didn't have my rifle with me....I was going for a quick walk.....so today I decided to wear a sweater I'd hate to get all bloody ....hubby claims my clothing could be construed as baiting :chuckle: umm only if I am baiting husbands  ......done with lunch time to head back out and try some more.....

Try hubbies boots. Your feet will keep dry.  :chuckle:  Stupid bear?  Sounds like he's pretty smart running you around in circles for now.  :chuckle:

Hiking is hiking. Not walking. So keep hiking. Or... Sit Bloody Still!

Try some still hunting. (take three steps, stop/look/listen/smell 360) Beats the hell out of hiking all day long.

Many years ago a buddy and I saw this dandy buck right before season. So we camped out for opening WEEK. We traipsed all around that mountain side. Saw his does that never wandered far. We crawled through the brush. We found his many beds. NEVER saw him during season. But, more than once, there were big buck tracks pretty much right next to camp from day and night. -Duh! If we'd have just sat our butts still on the fringes of camp and where we could keep track of his does... Maybe, just maybe one of us would have gotten a shot at him.
