decent trail cam buck
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:30:21 AM »
after several weeks and hundreds of pictures of the same doe and fawn, I got this picture of what looks like a decent buck wandering by my trail cam last night.  I hope we wasn't just passing through, and decides to stay a while.

from what I can tell with my poor quality trail cam pic, he looks like a straight 6x6.  What do you think he'd score?  I'm guessing he might squeeze into P&Y?

very nice! I think he'll make P & Y pretty easily. not gonna embarrass myself with a score guess but the minimum for typical whitetail is 125

Viking.  That is a Stud of a buck.  100% guaranteed he will go P & Y.  As you mentioned, he is most likely a good solid 6 x 6 and very symmetrical.  I'd sure like to get a look at him from the front.  Hard to guage the mass, main beam length and inside spread, but if they all fell into place, I think he could go 160 B & C; most definately 150+.  Just my opinion, but great looking buck.

It's just an opinion.  I've been fooled before from pics, but he looks real nice.  I'd like to see how long those brows are; assuming they're there.  Nonetheless, get him on the ground and lets worry about the score later!!!!  Thanks for posting

Looks like he'll make the book.  That is, any book you choose to enter him in.  Love to see WA whitetails holding their own against IA, KS, IL, etc.

I'd say 150" from the angle provided.  He will surely make P&Y.

Checked the trail cam this morning and got one more picture of him.  It's a little better than the last pic.  He's not very wide looking, but I still hope I see him during the season!

ok, now that there is a better picture, what do you think he scores?  I'm guessing 140-ish.

Im still saying "150-ish".  I would say 140's if he didn't have that 6th point.

G3's look pretty long and I don't see much in the way of deductions. True he is not REALLY wide but I bet he still makes 150+  If I got him he would certainly be on the wall. Great lookin buck. Go get him!
